CommBank Matildas among the nominees for prestigious player-voted 2025 Austraffic PFA Footballer of the Year Awards

A host of CommBank Matildas, Subway Socceroos and A-Leagues stars are among the nominees for the prestigious player-voted 2025 Austraffic PFA Footballer of the Year Awards.

Professional Footballers Australia (the PFA) has today unveiled the 24 nominees for the 2025 Austraffic PFA Footballer of the Year Awards — the prestigious, player-voted annual honours that celebrate the best in Australian football.

Proudly supported by Austraffic, the awards recognise excellence across four categories: Women’s Footballer of the YearMen’s Footballer of the YearYoung Women’s Footballer of the Year, and the Young Men’s Footballer of the Year (Harry Kewell Medal).

The nominees were selected based on performances between July 2024 and June 2025 in both the A-Leagues and international competitions.

The nominees were selected by an expert panel of former players and media representatives, with the final winners to be determined by a vote of PFA members.

Last year’s winners included Steph Catley and Mary Fowler, Jackson Irvine, and New Zealand goalkeeper Alex Paulsen.
