Central Coast Mariners v Adelaide United: match preview
A refreshed Adelaide United will be confident of taking all three points against Central Coast Mariners on Sunday at what’s been a home-away-from-home for them in Gosford.
The Reds – who enjoyed a bye last weekend – have won on their last six visits to Central Coast Stadium, including a 3-1 triumph last month (Round 6).
Gertjan Verbeek’s side is sitting comfortably inside the top four and will see this clash as a chance to consolidate that position.
But they should be clever enough not to underestimate Alen Stajcic’s side.
The Mariners were terribly unlucky to lose 1-0 to champions Sydney FC last weekend and have been playing better than their ladder position and points tally suggests.
Scoring goals has been their issue with just seven from eight games so far. Maybe new recruit Jair – who made an impressive debut last weekend – can help turn things around.
