Caltex Socceroo Bailey Wright has endured a miserable return to his former stamping ground in the English Championship overnight.
After playing 90 minutes in both recent World Cup qualifiers against Iraq and UAE, Wright re-joined Championship strugglers Bristol City for their visit to his former club Preston North End.
The Socceroos centre-back spent six-and-a-half seasons at Preston, playing over 180 League games for the Lilywhites before his move to Bristol City in January.
Unfortunately for Wright, Preston were utterly dominant, winning 5-0, with four of the goals coming in the first 23 minutes of the second half.
The result leaves Bristol City 21st in the Championship, just one point and one place above the relegation zone.
