Australia’s draw for AFC U-16 Championship revealed

Australia has learned their opponents for September’s AFC Under-16 Championships in India overnight.

The Aussies were drawn in Group B for the Continental tournament alongside Japan, Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan.

The 16-team tournament sees the top two teams in each group qualify to the quarter-finals before the four winners progress to the semi-finals.

The top four ranked teams of this year's AFC U-16 Championship will qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017.

Australia qualified for the tournament with wins over Guam (14-0), Myanmar (3-1) and Vietnam 1-0).
