The Australian Schoolboys completed a clean sweep of the New Zealand Schoolboys in their two-test series for the Trans Tasman Cup Friday in Christchurch. In light rain the Australians overwhelmed their opponents and only a goal in the final minute of extra-time for the host nation spoilt a comprehensive 7-1 win.
Dario Vidosic, who was unable to take the field in the first test, extracted his revenge with three well-taken goals. There was also goals for Nigel Boogaard (pictured), Tarek Elrich, Tony Dulevski and captain Chris Camilleri.
"This was truly a great result for Australia," stated a pleased Australian coach, John Romeo. "All the players lifted from Wednesday night's performance."
The result added to the 1-0 scoreline from the first test allowed Australia to hold on to the trophy. A return series is planned for next September in Australia.
