Australia held to a draw by South Korea

Australia had to come from behind to get a point in their second group C match

Mile Jedinak's first international goal in the second half of an energy-charged clash with Asian powerhouse South Korea cancelled out Koo Ja Cheol's first-half opener, ensuring the Socceroos grabbed a share of the points in this crucial Asian Cup Group C tie this morning.

Both teams will now be strong favourites to progress to the next stage. The Koreans will surely beat India in their final match, while Australia will merely have to avoid defeat against Bahrain if, as expected, the Bahrainis defeated India in the later game.

Australia's final group match against Bahrain on the 19th January again at 1215am AEDT.
