It was a great night to be an Aussie in England with many of our current crop of Socceroos contributing to wins for their club sides. Here's a wrap of some of the performances that caught the eye.
Mile Jedinak helped Crystal Palace to their first home win of the season, the Eagles captain finding the back of the net in the 2-0 win over Leicester City.
The second-half goal came from a set-piece, with the Socceroos skipper leaping highest to meet a free-kick with a glancing header to send the fans at Selhurst Park into raptures.
Having failed to score during last season's Premier League campaign, Jedinak now has two goals in as many weeks as Crystal Palace jumped to ninth on the ladder.
Scott McDonald is another player making regular contributions to his side and created an equaliser for Millwall against Huddersfield Town in the Championship.
Unfortunately his side eventually went down 2-1 but they find themselves well clear of the relegation scrap they faced for much of last season.
McDonald, now into his second campaign with the London club, has reinvented himself as an attacking midfielder and will be eyeing a contract extension if he can maintain his recent form.
Massimo Luongo continues to impress for Swindon Town in League One, this week setting up the opener on his team's travels to Barnsley.
The 22-year-old was the standout performer in the Socceroos recent friendlies and was again a creative presence in midfield as he played another full match in the 3-0 victory.
The win sees Swindon move to third on the table, having only lost one of nine matches, and pressing for promotion to England's second tier.
In what was a successful night for our current crop of Socceroos, defender Bailey Wright also found himself on the winning side as Preston North End accounted for Coventry City.
Wright has shown a nous for goal in recent weeks but it was his defensive efforts that helped maintain a cleansheet for his side in the 2-0 win that moved them up to sixth.
On the continent, James Holland limped off in Austria Vienna's scoreless draw at Grodig, while Luke Wilkshire was part of a big win for Feyenoord.
Just days after being recalled to the Socceroos squad, Holland completed just 26 minutes for Austria Vienna in the Austrian Bundesliga before he was forced off with an ankle injury after getting trodden on in a tackle.
Elsewhere, Mathew Leckie played a full match as FC Ingolstadt continued their unbeaten start to the season with a hard fought 1-0 away win.
Leckie's side top the standings in Germany's second tier, with the Socceroos' attacker hopeful of coming up against the likes of Bayern Munich next season if they can make the jump.
