All set for big finals day at Football Festival
With the players enjoying a skills and training day with the North Queensland Fury players on Monday, it was back to the business of playing football today.
The finals group games were played today with top spot up for grabs in all three groups. In the boys Group A, local side Yallorin of the North finished top after a 5-1 win over Victorian side Marngrook Meenteel. Borrolloola Cyclones held on to win 3-2 against a fast finishing Wakalato finish in second spot.
In Group B, Giralang Galaang (Dubbo) was the only team to win all three of its group games after a narrow 1-0 win over Maali, who finished in second spot. Eritja picked up its first points of the competition with a 6-0 win over Tarrabah from Tasmania.
The Girls competition Yallorin of the North and Borrolloola Cyclones finished level at the top with the Yallorin ahead on goal difference. Both teams recorded 5-1 wins over Wakala and Miyay Yulu-gi respectively.
