AIA Vitality MiniRoos booming at WA club

The AIA Vitality MiniRoos Kick-Off program is proving a big hit in the West, with Swan United having the second largest program in the country.

More than 80 young players are taking part at the site, one of the first launched in Western Australia.

“Every time we come down the kids are enjoying themselves more and more and the progress the players are making from week to week has been fantastic,” program leader Salv Todaro said.

“Several of the clubs’ senior players and coaching staff are involved with the program and all enjoy working with the kids.

“The program itself has benefitted the club both in the short-term with the free pop up goals and balls that we received to run the program, and in the long-term this will hopefully give us the increased player base for our future teams,” he said.

The AIA MiniRoos Kick-Off sites present clubs with an opportunity to provide a nationally consistent and FFA-endorsed introductory program for girls and boys aged between four and nine who want to get started in football.

Stirling Lions are the latest WA club to get behind the Kick-Off site and the program will commence there on June 27 at Macedonia Park.
