Fred Robins

English-born Fred Robins devoted most of his soccer life to coaching. After playing in the UK civil service competition and with various navy teams, he passed the English FA Senior Award course in 1968. Shortly after he emigrated to Australia, settling in Queensland.

Eddie Thomson

Born in Scotland in 1947, Eddie Thomson played for Scotland Under 23, Hearts, Aberdeen and San Antonio Thunder (USA) before joining Eastern Suburbs Hakoah (later Sydney City) in 1977. He coached Sydney City for seven years, going on to win nearly every major title.

Chris Bambridge
