Caitlin Foord was on the scoresheet for Arsenal as they overturned their first-leg deficit to vanquish Lyon and secure passage to their first UEFA Women’s Champions League final in 18 years.
Meanwhile, Clare Hunt was on the scoresheet for Spurs, and Emily van Egmond's Birmingham City took the promotion race to the final day.

UEFA Women’s Champions League
Chelsea 1 – 4 Barcelona (2-8 agg.)
Barcelona took full advantage of Chelsea’s attacking set-up, winning the second leg 4-1 and taking their aggregate victory to 8-2. Aitana Bomati, Ewa Pajor and Claudia Pina all scored in the first half before Salma Paralluelo added an exclamation mark in the final minute of regulation time. Sam Kerr remains unavailable for Chelsea as she continues the final stages of her ACL rehabilitation.
Lyon 1 – 4 Arsenal (3-5 agg.)
Arsenal secured a famous victory in Lyon, defeating the eight-time UWCL champions 4-1 in the second leg to advance to their first European final in 18 years. An own goal from Lyon’s goalkeeper Christiane Endler in the fifth minute set the tone early before Mariona Caldentry, Alessia Russo – off the back of good work from Caitlin Foord to win the ball back – and Foord herself all scored to take the Gunners out of sight.
It was a clinical performance from the English side, who went into the game as underdogs. Caitlin Foord and Steph Catley both started for Arsenal – playing the full match – while Kyra Cooney-Cross was substituted on late in the second half.
Ellie Carpenter started and played the full match for Lyon at right-back.
England
Women’s Super League
Liverpool and Spurs played out a 2-2 draw on the weekend, which saw Liverpool slip into sixth place. Sophie Roman Haug scored a brace for Liverpool while Clare Hunt was on the scoresheet for Spurs. Both of her WSL goals this season have come against Liverpool. Hunt started and played the full game for Spurs, while Charli Grant came on in the 66th minute. Hayley Raso is unavailable for Spurs due to injury, while Teagan Micah was an unused substitute for the Reds.
A stoppage time winner for Nikita Parris meant that Brighton & Hove Albion defeated Everton 3-2 and moved back up to fifth on the table. Everton led twice and the Seagulls pegged them back twice in the first half, before Parris’ goal sealed the result. Clare Wheeler started and played the full match in midfield for Everton.
West Ham piled on the goals against Crystal Palace, defeating them 7-1 and condemning them to the Championship next season. Shekiera Martinez scored four goals and what was a comprehensive result for the Hammers. Katrina Gorry started for West Ham before being withdrawn at half-time, picking up an assist on West Ham's second of the day.
Manchester City narrowly defeated Leicester City 1-0 to finish the weekend’s fixtures. Jess Park’s 70th minute goal separated the two teams in the end after a fighting effort from the Foxes. Courtney Nevin was a second-half substitute for Leicester while Mary Fowler is unavailable for City in the early stages of her ACL rehabilitation.
Women’s Championship
Birmingham City were held to a 1-1 draw on the weekend which could have eliminated them from the promotion race – however, London City’s draw with Durham meant that their season will go down to the final game. Birmingham scored first through Simone Magill before Rachel Furness equalised for Newcastle. Emily van Egmond started and played the full match for Birmingham.
Next Sunday, the final game of the season, will see second-place Birmingham City take on first-place London City. If Birmingham wins, they will play in the WSL next season – any other result will see London City promoted instead.
United States
Orlando Pride defeated Angel City 3-2 to move equal on points with KC Current at the top of the table. Angel City were winning 2-0 at half-time before goals to Marta, Barbra Banda, and a stoppage-time own goal saw the Pride take the points. Alanna Kennedy started for Angel City before being withdrawn in the second half after her second facial injury in the past month.
North Carolina Courage pulled off a dramatic upset, picking up their first win of the season against the KC Current – who, prior to this game, had a perfect record. The Current looked comfortable with their 2-1 lead before 90th and 93rd minute goals saw the Courage steal the three points. Cortnee Vine was an unused substitute for North Carolina.
Continuing the theme of the round, an astonishing 100th-minute penalty saw the Portland Thorns share the points with Racing Louisville. Louisville were leading 3-1 before a first-half stoppage time penalty to Jessie Fleming, followed by Jayden Lee Perry’s winner, gave Portland a point. Kaitlyn Torpey and Mackenzie Arnold both started for the Thorns.
Sweden
After trailing for most of the game, Kristianstads DFF picked up a 1-1 draw with Piteå. Beata Olsson’s 85th-minute goal was the moment that helped give Kristianstads some momentum after their poor early-season form. Remy Siemsen started for Kristianstads before being replaced in the 65th minute by Amy Sayer.
AIK Fotboll picked up an important three points, defeating Brommapojkarna 2-0. Adelisa Grabus scored both goals for AIK as they lifted themselves into midtable. Jada Whyman started for AIK and kept her first clean sheet since returning from injury last week.
Denmark
FC Nordsjælland were defeated 3-2 by Køge to see them drop further away from an improbable title defence. Nordsjælland scored two goals to equalise after falling to an early lead, but a goal from American Olivia Garcia consigned them to defeat. Winonah Heatley started and played the full game for Nordsjælland.
