Socceroos news: Rogic stars, Juric debuts, Cahill loses

Tom Rogic continues to catch the eye after returning to full fitness, playing a key role in Celtic's 6-0 thrashing of Dundee on Sunday, while striker Tomi Juric got a first taste of Eredivisie action.

Socceroos playmaker Rogic opened the scoring with a volley and set up the Bhoys' second as the Scottish Premiership title holders romped to a comfortable win at home.

The victory saw Ronny Deila's men stay second in the standings, five points behind early leaders Aberdeen.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Aziz Behich started and was subbed off with six minutes to go in Bursaspor's 2-1 Turkish Super Lig defeat at Fenerbahce.

Rostyn Griffiths played the full game, Juric made his debut off the bench and Daniel De Silva was an unused substitute for Roda JC in a 1-1 Eredivisie draw at home to Feyenoord.

Elsewhere in the Netherlands, Trent Sainsbury didn't get off the bench for PEC Zwolle, who defeated ADO Den Haag 2-1 at home.

Tim Cahill started and finished the game but his Shanghai Shenhua succumbed to a 2-1 loss at home to Shandong Luneng in the Chinese Super League.

James Holland completed 90 minutes but couldn't prevent his MSV Duisburg from going down 1-0 at home to FSV Frankfurt in the 2. Bundesliga.

Earlier in the weekend, Australia international James Troisi made his Al Ittihad debut in a 2-1 loss at home to Al Faisaly on Friday.

A night earlier on Thursday, Troisi's fellow former Melbourne Victory player Mark Milligan set up the opener for Bani Yas in a 3-3 Arabian Gulf League draw away to Al Fujairah.
