On Friday night Football Federation SA conducted a Small Sided Games (SSG) Presentation for eastern zone based clubs at Campbelltown City-s Newton Village Sports Complex.

Adelaide United FC defender and SSG Ambassador Richie Alagich conducted the evening with a powerpoint presentation followed by practical sessions involving young Campbelltown City players.

SSG are football games with fewer players competing on a smaller-sized field. They are fun games that encourage players to have more contact with the ball because fewer players are playing in a smaller area. SSG have a definite developmental impact on younger football players.

Adelaide United FC captain Travis Dodd and Adelaide United FC midfielder Lucas Pantelis, who are also Ambassadors of SSG, were in attendance to promote SSG, along with Football Australia-s National Participation Manager John Boulous.

Practical sessions were conducted by FFSA Development Officers David Martin and Sue Tripodi, along with Super League player Michele Lastella from MetroStars. On hand to answer any questions was FFSA Coaching and Development Manager John Mundy and FFSA Junior Competitions Officer Dimitri Peppas.

The FFSA will be conducting SSG Presentations in zone format through the next month. Information will be made available through club delegates.
