Optus Small Sided Football (OSSF) has begun its official implementation throughout the state with most FFSA Junior Premier League (JPL) Clubs including the format as part of their club development programs. Children in the ages of 6-8 will be participating in small sided games at both intra and inter club levels commencing late March.

The feedback and response from the JPL clubs has been encouraging to date as well as South Australian regional areas including Pt Augusta, Pt Pirie, Riverland and the Adelaide Hills Junior Soccer Associations - all willing to adapt to the new format for 2009.

FFA Regional Participation Manager Vito Basile is continuing to build relationships with all JPL clubs and Junior Soccer Associations in a bid to implement OSSF consistently throughout South Australia. It is anticipated by mid march all JPL clubs and Regional Junior Soccer Associations will have been introduced to the OSSF format, resulting in a stated based participation of OSSF.

Gala Days/Nights have been scheduled to provide assistance to Regional areas in the implementation and planning of OSSF while in Metropolitan areas; Gala Days have been divided into North and South zones to cater for all the JPL clubs. The first scheduled Gala Day is in the South Zone - Sunday March 22nd. All are welcome to attend.
