Ebony Salmon, Rachel Daly and Maz Pacheco were the goalscorers. Despite the final day defeat, it was a successful season overall for the Seagulls, who finished in fifth – the best team outside the top four.

Finally, Arsenal defeated Manchester United 4-3 to secure second place and more favourable UEFA Women’s Champions League qualification next season. Chloe Kelly, Mariona Caldentey, Frida Maanum and Kim Little were the goalscorers for the Gunners. Orlando Pride scored a stoppage-time equaliser to ensure the game finished 1-1 against the North Carolina Courage. For large periods of the game, it seemed like Felicitias Raunch’s first-half goal would be enough for the Courage to secure all three points - but it was not to be. Cortnee Vine was an unused substitute for North Carolina.

A 98th-minute penalty meant that the Portland Thorns finally broke through against a 10-player San Diego Wave. The Wave scored early through Kimmi Ascanio before a first-half red card to Kennedy Wesley left them a player short. It looked as if they might be able to hold on for the points, however, until Jayden Perry made no mistake from the penalty spot deep in stoppage time. Mackenzie Arnold was unavailable for the Thorns while Kaitlyn Torpey was an unused substitute.

Sweden

Jada Whyman kept her third clean sheet in a row, this time against first-place Hammarby, as AIK Fotboll inflicted their first defeat of the season with a 1-0 win.
