Jells Park Primary School Students Star at Victory PSC Match
Thirty five students from Jells Park Primary School Soccer Club (JPPSSC) were the stars of the night at the recent Victory v Phoenix Pre-Season Cup Match.
Thirty five students from Jells Park PS starred for Melbourne Victory on a cold wet night at Olympic Park. The students from Grades 5 and 6 have all been involved in the JPPSSC this season and were invited to demonstrate their skills on the pitch at the recent match against Wellington Pheonix.
The children entered the pitch during half-time of the main event, playing three small games in front of a crowd of some 4,000. Their coach and teacher, Andrew Farmer noted the children played some really good football in the less than friendly playing conditions.
Braving torrential rain and freezing conditions , the Jells Park players showed off their rapidly developing soccer skills encouraged by their parents and a handful of teachers from the school.
Thanks to all those involved in making the excursion successful and I hope we will be able to run a similar excursion to another game with the younger children involved in the soccer club later in the soccer season.
