A late goal to Perth veteran Jamie Harnwell has secured a 1-1 draw for the Glory against Brisbane at ME Bank Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

After an unsettled week in Brisbane, which saw Charlie Miller depart the club, the Roar appeared intent to take a cautious approach to this clash, the Queenslanders defending grimly against a tide of Glory attacks in the first half.

Against the run of play, Luke DeVere opened the scoring for Brisbane just after the break, but despite some nervous moments, Glory substitute Harnwell, playing his first match since Round 7 after suffering a knee injury, was on hand to slip home a scrappy goal.

Roar stopper Griffin McMaster should have done better, the goalkeeper allowing Harnwell's shot to slip through his hands and go in off the post.

But McMaster redeemed himself with a spectacular late save off a Todd Howarth shot that saw Brisbane secure a share of the points.

The draw sees Perth remain fifth on the Hyundai A-League table ahead of a difficult away trip, having won just once in the last seven matches, while Brisbane slips to eighth.

Meanwhile, in the National Youth League Central Coast hammered Gold Coast United 5-2.
