With the Socceroos ‘Road to Africa- 2010 World Cup set to commence on 11 September in a blockbuster international match against World Number 2 Argentina at the MCG, this new whole of sport partnership with FOXTEL will give the Socceroos and Football in Australia another massive and timely boost.
In another show of the ever-increasing corporate backing for Football, FOXTEL has secured the rights to be:
• Official Partner of the Australian National Football Teams • Official Supplier to the Hyundai A-League • Official Partner of the Hyundai A-League Finals Series
FFA Chief Executive Officer Mr. Ben Buckley said the similarities between the two organisations made the partnership an ideal fit.
“Football continues to offer a huge and international array of entertainment to its Australian audiences - from World Cup Qualifiers and showpiece internationals, to the week-in week-out quality entertainment of the Hyundai A-League - and hence the great fit with our new partner FOXTEL,” said Buckley.
“Football at the top level is all about providing world class entertainment and that is exactly what FOXTEL-s focus is too,” he added.
“The two brands are extremely complementary, and this partnership is a natural addition to our broadcast agreement with Fox Sports who sit on the FOXTEL platform,”
