FFA Trials for Beach Football

FFA will be entering a team in the Asian Football Confederation Beach Football Qualifying Tournament in May 2009.

Football Federation Australia will be entering a team in the Asian Football Confederation Beach Football Qualifying Tournament in May 2009.

FFA in conjunction with Member Federations will conduct trials for invited players from across Australia in 6 locations which started last weekend in Melbourne

The trials will then move on to Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Perth and Adelaide in the coming weeks.

Identified players from the trial days will be invited to attend a National Team Camp to be held in April. The camp will be under the direction of newly appointed National Beach Football Head Coach Airton Andrioli.

Airton currently works as State and Regional Development Officer with Football Federation South Australia and has had extensive experience in the area of beach football. Airton was the head coach of the Solomon Islands Olympic National team as well as their National Beach Football team.

The team will be looking to qualify through the AFC tournament in May for this years FIFA Beach Football World Cup to be held in November in Dubai.
