FFA National Championships kick off in Coffs Harbour

The FFA National Championships for Boys commenced in Coffs Harbour on Monday with some exhilarating football involving all 25 teams.

The tournament began with an opening ceremony run by Northern New South Wales Football Director Phil Holt, and featured addresses from Cr Garry Innes of Coffs Harbour City Council, Andrew Fraser MP: Member for Coffs Harbour and Ante Juric, FFA Assistant National Technical Director Women’s Football/Assistant Coach Women’s National Team.

Capital Football and Football Victoria were first up in the Under-13's division, while Northern NSW Metro and NSW Country contested the Under-14's opener.

Both matches were entertaining affairs which set the competitive tone of the event being stage at C.ex International Stadium.

The final match of the day saw South Australia cruise past Football West 5-2. Football West was the only side to play two matches on the day, defeating Victoria Metro 3-0 in the morning.

All matches throughout the day were hard fought, played in good spirit, and showcased the amazing footballing talent Australia has to offer.
