FFA National Championships for Boys day two wrap

The second day of the FFA National Championships for Boys has wrapped up yesterday following another enthralling day in Coffs Harbour.

NSW Metro thumped Victoria Metro 8-0 in the 14 Years opening fixture at 8.30am, which was the first match of the day and set the tone for Day 2 as goals flew in from all areas of the pitch throughout the fourteen gripping matches.

A star emerged as Capital Football’s Zachary Barbatano from the 13 Years side scored all four goals in his side’s 4-2 win over Queensland country. He has scored all of his team’s seven goals across their two matches.

It was a tough day for the keepers, as only five clean sheets were kept across the fourteen fixtures.

The final match of the day began at 5.50pm and saw the first red card of the Championships handed out as 14 Years Victoria Country’s Akshat Singh was sent off following two bookable offences in their 3-0 loss to Northern NSW Country.

All matches were played at an intense, competitive pace, and once again sportsmanship was plentiful.
