The Whole of Football Plan to guide the game’s long-term development will be the topic of two public forums, Football Federation Australia (FFA) has announced.
The forums will take place in Sydney (Tuesday 2 December) and Melbourne (Thursday 4 December) as part of the ongoing public consultation process.
The Whole of Football Plan aims to address the major issues facing Australian football from the grassroots to the elite levels.
The topics for discussion at the public consultation forums, will include;
- Elite player and coach development
- National teams
- Community football
- Facilities development
- National competitions
- Fan connections
- Commercial revenues
FFA CEO David Gallop said it’s time for a national plan that will create a road map for the strategic objective “to make football the biggest and most popular game in Australia”.
“It’s a sign of our confidence in the future and our determination to build on today’s foundations that we are embarking on this process,” said Gallop.
“The game has massive potential, but not always the capital, resources and structures to harvest the opportunity. That’s why we need a plan that everyone in the football community can get behind.
“If you are a player, a fan, a volunteer, an avid TV watcher, if you are among those who love this game, you are incredibly important to this plan.”
The Sydney Whole of Football Plan public consultation forum will be held at the University Hall at UTS on Harris Street, Ultimo from 7:30pm on Tuesday 2 December.
The Melbourne Whole of Football Plan public consultation forum will be held in the Clarendon Auditorium at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, South Bank from 7:30pm on Thursday 4 December.
