Betfair today announced a product fee and integrity agreement with Football Federation Australia (“FFA”) that will see FFA receive a share of the revenue generated by Betfair through betting on Australian football matches, including those involving the Socceroos and the Hyundai A-League. Importantly, it will also give the FFA access to details of the betting that takes place on their matches so that they can more effectively manage the integrity of their sport.

“Betfair-s Director of Corporate and Business Affairs in Australia, Andrew Twaits, said, “The English Premier League is the world-s biggest sports betting product and whilst the A-League has not yet reached that level, we expect to see significant growth in the popularity of Australian football markets over the next few years. We-re delighted that the FFA will now benefit directly from that growth.”

FFA Chief Executive Officer, Ben Buckley, said, “Over the past couple of years we have worked hard with other major sports to receive a share of revenue from betting on our events and access to information relevant to managing the integrity of our competitions. I am delighted that Betfair shares the same conclusions as the FFA and our agreement is testament to that. We look forward to other betting agencies following Betfair-s lead.”
