Eyre Peninsula regional town Pt Lincoln, also known as the 'Seafood Capital' of Australia, is situated approximately 650km west of Adelaide, has hosted the latest Cottee-s Schools 5-a-side Gala Day. Kirton Point Reserve, home of the Port Lincoln Junior Soccer Association played host to local and surrounding schools, with one school travelling up to 70kms to be part of the fun. Kirton Point Reserve transformed into a rainbow of colour, as participating students wore coloured bibs representing the flavours of Cottee-s cordial.
Extended thanks go to Kym Perrone - Small Sided Football coordinator in Pt Lincoln for organising the venue and thanks to the Port Lincoln Junior Soccer Association for allowing the Football Federation Australia Game Development Program to be held at their home of Football, especially being so close to ‘Finals Football Fever-. The feedback and response received from teachers and students was extremely positive. The Cottee-s Schools 5-a-side Gala Day has left its mark in the region.
