FIFA has revealed their nominees for The Best FIFA Football Awards™ 2024, with nominations for both Ellie Carpenter and Steph Catley in the FIFA Women's XI.
Stepping up to captain the CommBank Matildas at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games™ in the absence of Sam Kerr, Catley scored two goals for her country. She also helped club team, Arsenal, to third place in the 2023-24 English Women's Super League alongside fellow CommBank Matildas, Caitlin Foord and Kyra Cooney-Cross.
Meanwhile, Carpenter, 2024 AFC Asian International Player of the Year, has been a stalwart in defence for both club and country.
She helped French giants, Olympique Lyonnais to victory in the 2023-24 French Division 1 Féminine, raised the 2023 French Trophée des Championnes and placed runner-up in the 2023-24 UEFA Women's Champions League.
