Alex Brosque and Shane Lowry added to Qantas Socceroos Squad
Qantas Socceroos Head Coach Pim Verbeek has called up Sydney FC attacker Alex Brosque as replacement for Josh Kennedy who has a slight back injury.
Qantas Socceroos Head Coach Pim Verbeek has called up Sydney FC attacker Alex Brosque, as replacement for Josh Kennedy who has a slight back injury, and added Shane Lowry to his squad for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup 2011 Qualifier against Oman which will be played at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex on Saturday 14 November in Muscat, Oman (kick-off 6:00 pm local, 1:00am AEDT).
This will be Brosque-s first selection in Qantas Socceroos squad since 2006 and his first under Pim Verbeek. Brosque made his senior international debut for the Qantas Socceroos against Fiji at the 2004 OFC Nations Cup in Adelaide. Brosque has made 4 senior A-International appearances with his most recent in the AFC Asian Cup 2007 qualification match against Kuwait at the Sydney Football Stadium (16 August 2006).
The Qantas Socceroos have begun to arrive in Muscat to prepare for their AFC Asian Cup 2011 Group B qualification match against Oman.
The Oman v Qantas Socceroos match will be broadcast live and exclusive on FOX SPORTS 1 with coverage commencing from 12:30am AEDT on Sunday 15 November.
